It's because its their prophet, they don't want anyone using pictures of him unless they know exactly thats how he looked like. And naming them that is because its a honor.

Muhammad is the prophet, the name is Mohammed or Muhammed but never spelt the same way as the prophet. Muslims do not use people or animals at all in their art, it's understandable they would be offended by someone trying to draw their prophet.

fucking idiot can't even spell Muhammad and what does pictures have to do with naming your kid something that's like saying you see a picture of a naked girl named Denise, call her a bitch then name your kid Denise.

There was already a post on the same subject, so I will just copy & paste what I wrote on that post. Muslims protest the depiction of Muhammad in pictures because then people will start to worship the images, much like Christians pray to, kiss, etc. pictures and depictions of Jesus. Children can be named Muhammad because there is no confusion as to whether the child is the actual prophet Muhammad or not.
