0 Socialism: hated by many, understood by the few that don't, amirite?

Okay, OP. I decided to look up the definition to get a better understanding of it... //Socialism- a way of organizing a society in which major industries are owned and controlled by the government rather than by individual people and companies.// Nope, I still hate it. We've already seen that governments are more than capable of being corrupt. More government does not equal less corruption. And you don't have to search very long to find government owned, operated, or heavily regulated entities that are ran poorly because of government involvement. Key example: The US Postal Service. This dying company should have been put out of its misery or sold to a private company years ago. To be fair, I looked up another definition; this time from something a little more in depth. The second one didn't mention government ownership but used the word public instead. Sounds better.. okay, what else? I continued to read... "//According to the socialist view, individuals do not live or work in isolation but live in cooperation with one another.//" Stop. //Live in cooperation with one another?// Please remind me when mankind as a whole has cooperated. Cooperation means to work together to the same end. Now we are all individuals and no form of government changes that. We all desire different things from life. Because of this, cooperation while feasible on a small scale, does not work for an entire society and this is where socialism fails. I still hate socialism.
