The black side of my family says "it's been a minute" even if they haven't seen someone in 20 years. It makes no sense to me, either.

ghetto people at my school always said that anything they didn't like was "fake" like "ooo girl you bein so fake" and the more extreme girls threatened your life if you accidentally bumped into them in the hallway.

Now, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but the way you used fake is not saying they don't like the person it's more of a they are coming off as not real.... Just what I think though. Also how is calling someone fake considered ghetto? Keep in mind that ghetto and black are not interchangeable...

i can see how you would think that given my limited example. let me give you some others: "you won't let me borrow your pencil? that's so fake!" "teacher just told me i'm failing, she so fake!" "my mom was bein so fake yesterday when she wouldn't let me watch TV" calling someone fake isn't necessarily ghetto, but it's ghetto once you take it out of context and start using it all over the place in situations where the person is clearly not being fake.
