I've actually been wondering about this sequence of events as well.... For once Canada has it figured out and has Boxing Day after CHRISTMAS (which is Canadian equivalent of Black Friday). I think marketing wise that is the best day to put it, because EVERYONE will have presents ready for Christmas, then they will have to go out and buy MORE just because people will naturally assume it's an "efficient" thing to do.
