I like using emoyicons and multiple quotation marks!!! Is there really anything wrong with that??? It is actually a good way of getting your emotions across when you aren't speaking to someone in person :) I don't see anything wrong with it...

He's saying that using those is making us dumber because we cannot sense the emotion. You have no feeling so you need punctuation to try and make up for that
