+77 People here are incredibly judgemental about teenagers having sex, despite it being completely natural. The Catholic Church has proved that long term 'celibacy' does not work, and the results of those sexual frustrations are much more damaging than getting down with a consensual partner could ever be, amirite?

I agree. As long as we are well educated about birth control (which a large majority of us are) we should be fine. Just because you have those teens who get pregnant doesn't mean all of us are ignorant. I for one am 17 and am aware of the fact that condoms and birth control pills/shots/patches are available for EVERYONE. I'm also aware that accidents happen, but now they have the plan b pill for that. Was that relevant? I'm not sure, I'm kind of half asleep.

I think you summed it up nicely :)

Aw thanks :) This is just one of those things I feel strongly about.

Celibacy will same you a ton of money on Plan B and time from taking STD tests.

Both of those things are free in the UK lol. Sexual desire is natural and human, why do people try so hard to fight it?

It's not that people are sufffering so much from sexual restraint.Society has made it look like if you don't have sex, you will be so frustrated that you have to take it out on porn or someother reason. Abstinence isn' just about fighting against natural urges it's more thatn that. And studies show that more people regret having sex before marriage than those who regret not having sex. it's a psychological and emotional thing. And it just shoes you're sense of self respect and control

i agree with epitome. society tries to make it seem like priests and the like are all sexual predators. not true. they just get more publicity. usually, sexual predators/abuse come from those who don't commit to living chastely.

Everyone's going to have a different opinion on this topic, but i really believe that abstinence is the way to go. Sex is meant to be something between two people that love each other to create children. If you're not ready to have kids, you're not ready to have sex. And i really don't think you're ready to have kids until you're married. I'm Catholic, but my religious beliefs are not what made me decide to save myself till marriage. I'm doing it because i'm not ready to have kids, and that's really what sex is for!

well said

people discourage teenagers having sex for many reasons one is that no matter what birth control or protection you use NOTHING can prevent STDs all the time except abstinance. So maybe people are just trying to look out for their well being
