+204 Everybody always complains that gas prices are so high, but people don't realize that it is cheaper to buy a 16oz bottle of gasoline than a 16oz bottle of water. amirite?

To be fair, each 16oz bottle of water has to be individually packaged, which adds a lot to the price. However, you can go up to one of those water machines in a supermarket and supply your own package, and 16oz would probably cost about $.10 or less. That's more closely analogous to the method of getting gasoline.

You don't buy water, you buy plastic bottles that have water in them, amirite? Actually, I think OP is refering to mineral water, which has minerals and some vitamins and stuff in them, so they're expensive. Distilled water costs about half that of gas. 10c is the cost, but the sellers want to make money off it.

Gas prices aren't high at all if you live in America.

Yarp...I think I pay $0.33 more per litre here.

Narp... haha. Had to say it.

Gas prices really aren't that high in America compared to prices in other countries. I went to Canada about three years ago and we figured it out and gas up there was already over $4 a gallon.

I wouldn't complain if I could get gasoline from my sink like tap water.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

you can buy a gallon of water for around $1 in most places, so this is confusing to me...

bottled water, especially at movies/amusment parks, is about 2 dollars for 16 oz.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

But I wanted to carry around my gallon of water at the amusement park!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's only if you get it at a movie theatre or restaurant. At my supermarket you can get a bottle for 50 cents. If you get the non-store brand, it's a dollar.

I forget if I was at Giant or Shoppers Food Warehouse, but I got a bottle of Deer Park water for only a quarter
