+203 Your parents don't like most of your music, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not just my parents, but my siblings too. My parents are into old school hip hop, my brother is into mainstream rap, and my sister is into pop music while I mostly listen to alt rock.

Wait.....are you me?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ah. Me as well. Although you can't tell from the music listed on my profile.

When do we get married?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

My mom and I actually listen to Ke$ha and Lady Gaga together.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Why?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

...because we both enjoy their music?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Why would you enjoy that?

I can already predict that your next comment will be "Music sucks so much today I only like old music!!!!" Fine, but people have different tastes so please leave me to mine and I'll lead you to yours

Nah, there are good music today f you look for it. And I was sorta kidding.

My mom like "Give Me Everything Tonight" by Pitbull. She likes it so much that whenever I'm in the car with her, she makes a point of blasting it and singing at the top of her lungs. And i thought the song was overplayed in August....

My music taste is varied enough that both my parents like it. My mom likes soft rock (Oasis, The Cure, etc.) and my dad likes "anything before that shit that started in the eighties".

by Anonymous 12 years ago

My dad shares my taste in music while my mom hates all my music.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

My parents are unaware of my taste in music. Probably for the best, since I just downloaded an album about a gay deer.

I am maybe the only person who listens to Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, etc., almost religiously. My parents love any music that isn't rap, so they like my taste in music.

Neither of my parents have iPods so I get to play my music on car trips, and through the magic of overexposure, my parents have grown to tolerate, and in some cases even enjoy, my music.

My dad and I are sitting here right now watching an old Gigantour together. Of all the things I have in common with my dad- which is quite a lot- music is the strongest bond. My mom listens to crap like Lady Gaga though. No me gusta. She'll still listen to some Metallica and Avenged Sevenfold with me, but she can't stand Megadeth, which is my favorite band.

I grew up listening to the music my mom likes, and I still like it. I have developed other tastes, but mom likes that music, too.

I turn off my dubstep when Dad gets in the car and even play a nice melodic Coldplay instead. He still hates it. He'll only like my music if it's a bass-ed up version of talk radio.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Me and my dad share the same interests in music and talk about bands & stuff pretty often y .My step mom hates my taste in music. Steps.. psh

My mom and step-dad like acoustic, my sisters like Justin Bieber (AAARGH!!!), and I listen to alt rock or punk rock. Everyone in my family hates my music.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I listen to music older than the stuff my parents listen like, and they always tease me about this. It's kind of hilarious.

I listen to the mainstream stuff on the radio, some rock, screamo, techno, rap, a little bit of everything. My mom is usually okay with my music but I did get yelled at after she heard "Holler til you pass out" by 30H!3. As for my dad...he only likes the music from like the late 80s and 90s, stuff he grew up listening to.
