It takes a truly intelligent person to properly understand and appreciate heavy metal, amirite?
by Anonymous14 years ago
It takes a nerd looking for a power trip
by Anonymous14 years ago
Maybe ;)
by Anonymous14 years ago
I agree, however I prefer to hear the content of the lyrics instead of incohesive screaming.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Fair enough :)! Not ALL of it is incohesive however...

its all crap though

Thank you for that wonderful input. It was very thought-provoking.

heavy metal appeals to nerds. im sorry but its true. all the people who feel misunderstood or weak listen to it and find meaning in the "music" and find power in it. they think that other people who don't like the "music" are unintelligent. however, it is only the lack of fitting in with society that would lead to liking heavy metal.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Well you are right in a way, I'll give you that. Data has been collected which suggests that those who have a higher IQ than most, and feel isolated from those around them and under pressure because of this, find comfort in metal music. I would hardly say it's anything to do with being "weak". Also, there are some pretty thick people who like metal as well. Exceptions to the rule? I don't know. Anyway what was your point again? :S
by Anonymous14 years ago
as you said, it takes someone intelligent to appreciate heavy metal. obviously skinz is not.
by Anonymous14 years ago
quite right. lol. Actually, I've been to a number of heavy metal concerts with my friends (I used to think it was stupid til I went. It was a blast, but that's beside the point), and saw very very few nerds and anti-social people. Most people there were actually really nice. My theory is since they scream so loud, they get rid of all their aggression in a healthy way and end up much happier people.
Wait, wait. Let's watch skinz troll this post. It'll be hilarious

metal sucks, its worse than rap in my opinion
by Anonymous14 years ago
i disagree, rap doesn't even have an ounce of actual MUSIC in it (from instruments, etc) just synthesized beats made in the computer... metal on the other hand, does.
by Anonymous14 years ago
quite right.
RAP = Retards Attempting Poetry
METAL = Musical Extremists Tripping Around Lyrics
At least metal has music.
by Anonymous14 years ago
synthesized music is still music. It requires thought and ability to use musical software to create what you want, even if most rap beats are terrible pieces of work. Rap beats =/= Electronic music
by Anonymous11 years ago
You all are stupid.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Of course! It makes so much sense now! Some cowardly high school kid makes a statement, therefore it must be true!
lol. love your bluntness, miss. ;P
by Anonymous14 years ago
Wrong, it takes a truly intelligent person to properly understand and appreciate anybody's music.
by Anonymous14 years ago
True :)
by Anonymous14 years ago
Fair point :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
I completely disagree. I go to a magnet program with some very intelligent studens and there doesn't seem to be an exeedingly high number of us who like metal.
by Anonymous14 years ago
Note: "all intelligent people like metal" was never said. If you're in such highly intelligent programs, you should probably be intelligent first.
by Anonymous14 years ago
YetAnotherAnonymous is right.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Not only does it have to do with general intellecence, but also musical intellegence. Metal music is actually very complex and is challenging to play. If you understand what goes into metal you might appreciate it more
by Anonymous14 years ago
the guy isn't even singing, more like screaming with an extremelly scratchy voice
by Anonymous14 years ago
Which guy? :S There are hundreds of different metal bands... A lot of them have singing for vocals. You are narrow minded, perhaps.
