-407 You don't understand how people can have over 100 emails in their inbox, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have nearly 10,000 emails, and it's a pain looking for important stuff

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I just don't understand how a person can have that much stuff.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't get any spam, but I still have over 2000 I think. Never delete anything. Youtube comments on videos and comment replies. Some people make their facebook notifications go to their main email (I don't).

by Anonymous 12 years ago

When mine gets above 1000 I tend to do a mass cull but it doesn't last long.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

When you use your email for sites they sell it to third party advertisers to put on their mailing lists.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

you're giving your email to the wrong people then.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You must be new to e-mailing if you've never heard of junk mail.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Or I'm smart and make sure I'm not subscribing to every site that claims to need my email.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Most sites do so. Notice the negative score your post has currently.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That just tells me that people are subscribing to things that they don't need. Or not unsubscribing when they get that junk mail.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It doesn't really matter. No one really uses e-mail unless its for work.

This - my brother and my best mate both have thousands of emails in their inboxes. I go into mine every few days and delete the crap, so that I don't miss the important stuff. I could understand if it was a "side email" or one specifically for online shopping, but it's the same email they use for everything.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have accounts on a ton of websites, and on all of them they have to have my email. I use one email for junk and one for people to actually email me. On my junk one I have about 21,000+ emails, but on my other one I only have about 20 because I delete the ones on there.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Thats ridiculous.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well I rarely check it.. and after I got a few hundred I found it pointless to try and delete them all. Now I just leave it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have 3188 unread emails as of yesterday because formspring sends me an email everytime I get a response, get a question, or someone smiles at me.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

~7500 and i deleted all spam + some extra emails... all of them unread of course, but slightly over 100

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have 785 on one of my emails, and on the other I have 1665.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The post is saying that it isn't possible to have more than 100, it's saying that it doesn't make sense how people allow it to get that out of hand.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's easy for some people. I don't ever check my emails on the computer. I have my iPod for that. Because I have my iPod for it, I delete them off there and not off the actually inbox.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I only get about 10 e-mails a day, so mine is really easy to manage. I very rarely let unimportant mail sit in my inbox.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I get tons of emails each day, but I obsessively delete them because I can stand clutter in my inbox. For those that I don't delete, I separate them into folders. When I have a lot of emails, it makes me feel like I have so much to do because a lot of them are in regards to school, college, homework, volunteer stuff, etc. I have another email address with tons of stuff in the inbox, but that's because I never go on it, and I give annoying sites that email address, including facebook.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

facebook.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I never clear out my email because it's gmail and there's constantly more space.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

My inbox has 5 emails, but my spam folder has about 623

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well... On my iPod all my email accounts are linked to one massive inbox. And those individually get about.... 100 or so in a day.

Here are some reasons I have over 100 emails: If I'm in a club at school, they tend to do announcements over email because not everyone has a facebook. I, myself, don't have a facebook, so if one of my friends doesn't have texting, I email them instead. A lot of my friends don't go to my school, so I have email conversations going on with about ten people. I email teacher questions about projects/homework and they respond, thus adding to my inbox. If there's some program I'm interested in, I subscribe to their email newsletters. For example, there's a club near my house and they constantly have concerts their, so I subscribe to their newsletter so I can keep updated on what bands are playing there with out having to check on the website myself. If I sign up for a website, they usually send me an email with my account information on it. I keep those just in case. I like to get email notifications on some things. Formspring for example. If you get a smile on one of your responses, unless you get an email notification, you have no other way of knowing besides scrolling through all of your answers and checking each one.

It's not the fact that people have so many emails that I don't understand, I don't like to delete some emails myself, it's just that how some people can have 1000+ unread emails in their inbox. Like do they not check them or something? It slightly bothers me a bit because I can't stand there being an unread email in my own inbox

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have like 3 or 4 thousand. I just deleted everything a few months ago.. And I haven't looked at it since haha
