Yeah, but a lot of those comments are made solely because it is POTD in an attempt to get loves or up votes.

I've made some posts with a good amount of comments which are 10x better than any comments I would have gotten with POTD. Why? They actually had substance. Besides, some POTDs have a lot of comments because of ugly flame wars.
