OP believes the only/main reason Internet Explorer is so popular is because it has a direct name (It states the use of the software) as opposed to Chrome/Opera/Firefox which are apparently more confusing to older people because they don't know what they are.

It's popular because it's the default browser on the most popular OS...the name has nothing to do with it
