I believe you have a valid point. This world has stopped progressing on the grounds of money. Oil for example. The big oil crisis was not enough to start manufacturing or looking into alternative energy and producing it. Yet the oil companies have kept the combustion engine going strong.

It would be better simply if people did things out of kindness. Money doesn't need to affect our selflessness. The problem is that too many people are willing to exploit others for their own gain.

That was the idea behind Communism. It actually would be really cool if Communism had gone as planned, but...

a communist economy has never been tried on a large scale economy. Marx said it was possible through "re-education"... honestly it seems unlikely but yes it would be cool

what would be the motivation to learn or invent new things? Or for people to work in general. Innovation go right out the table. Communism will not work on a large scale and hardly works on a small scale without external forces keeping it stable...

There would be plenty more motivation. Some people purposely hold back just to see someone else fail. I myself wouldn't give this world anything to help it exploit others or make someone else rich and powerful.
