I actually use Duck Tape. That's the name of the brand.

It can be called either "duck" or "duct"!
Duc(k)(t) tape was invented in 1945 (I believe) for the Americans to use in the war to tape closed crates full of ammo so it wouldn't get wet. Since it's waterproof, it can be called DUCK tape because it does essentially the same thing as a duck's feathers. Only after the war was it being used on DUCTS because it's so strong.
So, either way you say it is technically correct!
