+278 It would suck to be a Ravenclaw and have to answer a riddle every freaking time you wanted to get into the common room, amirite?

I think the point is that Ravenclaws *enjoy* intellectual stimulation.

That's true, but what if you're about to take an open-book arithmancy test (if that even exists) and you accidentally left your text book in your room and the professor says you only have one minute until the test starts or you're locked out so you race to your room only to be confronted by a tricky riddle that is going to take more than a minute to solve?

You see, a Ravenclaw would've never left their arithmancy textbook in their room in the first place! I think solving a riddle would be kinda fun, you get to socialize with other people to figure out a little puzzle. No? Maybe it's just me.

I don't know, Ravenclaws are clever, but not necessarily orderly. And, seeing as you have to solve a riddle to get into your common room, I'd say it's more like having to figure out a little puzzle just to socialize with other people.

You could be right, but then again I could argue a Ravenclaw wouldn't even need their textbook in the first place. Yeah, that's probably true, but you can socialize //and// solve a puzzle, killing 2 birds with 1 stone, right?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well that's your fault.

Yes, but it would probably get tiresome to have to answer a riddle when you're off to class and then you realize you've left something in your room by accident.

It always bothered me that basically anyone could've gotten into the Ravenclaw common room and just as easily a Ravenclaw could get locked out. The odds that specifically only and all the Ravenclaws would know the answer is really low.

But the people from Slytherin and Gryffindor would assume it was a password. And I can't see a Hufflepuff being terribly interested in sneaking into another house's common room.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I enjoy riddles.
