+396 It's bullying to tag someon in a facebook status and then write mean things about them. It's also bullying if you comment that you agree, even if you didn't write the status. amirite?

Personally I find bulling is talked about too much like the dangers on the internet. It is as though everyone gets bullied and everyone is a rapist on internet

So true. Everyone's taking bullying to a whole new level. It's really not THAT horrible, I mean on all these sites there are ways to block people who are abusing you like that, it's really not that hard.

I agree teachers at schoo lkeep talking about it saying that bulling continues at home but they choose to go on those websites they could close the tab or just close the computer and go read a book

It's only bullying if it's a repeated occurrence. One Facebook status does not qualify.

"Jane Doe is an ugly, fatass slut. Why don't you just kill yourself?" -"Haha, so true! XD" -"She's a fucking dumbass whore" -"She's be doing the world a favor if she offed herself!" ... I'd feel pretty damn bullied if I was the Jane Doe in this situation.

Sure, that's a terribly thing for people to do, but unless "Jane" has been subjected to that kind of treatment before, it's not classified as bullying. By definition, bullying is the repeated mental and emotional abuse of a victim. At least, that's how I've learned it in two separate schools. Again, I agree that making fun of someone like is despicable, but it's just not bullying.

Terrible* Like that*

"Bullying is an act of //repeated// aggressive behavior in order to intentionally hurt another person, physically or mentally" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullying "Workplace Bullying is //repeated//, health-harming mistreatment of one or more persons (the targets) by one or more perpetrators" http://www.workplacebullying.or...em/definition/ I know this says workplace bullying, but it's no different than regular bullying. This one is more specific to this situation: "Cyber-bullying involves the use of information and communication technologies to support deliberate, //repeated//, and hostile behavior by an individual or group, that is intended to harm others" http://legaldefinitions.co/cyber-bullying.html And I don't mean to sound like an over-sensitive bitch, but I honestly don't understand why I'm being down-voted.

You should just unfriend those people. It makes it so they can't do it anymore, and you don't have to be surrounded by them. Seriously, there's ways to ignore internet bullying, take advantage of them, or you're just asking to be hurt.

I have a tip, get off the computer and go outside, people just love drama

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Cyber bullying is a joke. If you feel like you are being bullied over the internet, get off of that website. No one is forcing you to read what the people are saying. If its on facebook, DELETE THEM FROM YOUR FACEBOOK. If it's on formspring DELETE YOUR FORMSPRING. The bully is obviously too afraid to confront you in real life so why would you even feel bad? People need to learn how to take criticism, it could help toughen some of us up.

Most of the time, tagged statuses bitching off about someone is NOT bullying. Usually, (I know this from doing it myself), they come about from arguments, provoked fights, etc, and are almost always provoked. Tagged statuses are actually really rare, just to let you know. I'm a fourteen year old girl, so most of them time I am involved in some kind of bitchiness, whether it's backstabbing or cussing each other out, real life or online. I've only come across two other people who have put up tagged bitchy statuses. What I do think of as cyberbullying on Facebook is 'We all hate [name]' groups, 'lms if you hate [name]', constantly posting horrible things on someone's wall, statuses, photos, etc without being provoked, stuff like that. Note WITHOUT BEING PROVOKED.
