How's about this? It's not as harmful as the anti-drug crowd says (albeit not the miracle drug that advocates say it is) and the drug war is worse than marijuana. Why not just legalize?

It's both. Weed is a drug because it alters our state of mind when we consume it (and has medical benefits), and it technically fits the definition of an herb: "such a plant when valued for its medicinal properties, flavor, scent, or the like." Of course it would be stupid to say weed isn't a drug, but you wouldn't be incorrect in calling it an herb.

Nothing wrong with using weed just to get high. It just irritates me when pot heads make all pot smokers look stupid by saying it's not a drug.

This reminds me of a friends girlfriend: "I hate drugs and all people who do drugs". A few minutes later: "The best thing ever is getting drunk and then smoking a joint." WTF? When I called her out on it she claimed weed and alcohol aren't really drugs because they're not bad for you. That's totally wrong, but I knew she wouldn't get she was being a hypocrite so I just dropped it. As for weed being legalized, think about it. If you smoke weed you already have access to it. So do you really want to pay exorbitant prices and taxes for government-regulated (read: weak and shiity) weed that you can already get a hold of for pretty cheap? I haven't smoked weed in 8+ years so maybe I don't get it, but legalizing marijuana seems pointless to me.

Government medical weed is so fucking good. And it's not all that expensive, maybe a couple bucks more a gram and trust me it's worth it.
