+103 The way we live our lives today would seem very strange to Neanderthals and other earlier humans. Because they lived based on an instinct to survive, all the extra stuff that's practically necessary in modern life (think phones, indoor plumbing, etc.) would seem really silly to them. Kind of an interesting way to think about the stupid stuff we see as essential, amirite?

That's true, but in fact some of the things people label as "frivolous" or "non-essential" are in fact essential to survival as we currently know it.

I don't think they would regard our things as "silly".... They would be more impressed over anything if you ask me
