+329 There's really nothing wrong with enjoying mainstream music, amirite?

I started typing out a comment but it turned into a big, long, off-topic rant. I know most of the words to all of Nicki Minaj's songs that have appeared on the radio.

I like mainstream music, although sometimes I do prefer an artists music before they get too mainstream. Kinda like how drakes thank me later album was waaayyyyyy better than take care

TRUE DAT! I felt he was whining a lot in the Take Care album but there were some good songs.

Yeah it seemed like most of the songs on Take Care mentioned how sad he was about his ex. Thank Me Later had Miss Me, Up all Night, Fancy, AND Over. Plus a bunch more like Unforgettable and Show me a Good Time. It was crazy.

So true, I also like Find Your Love (surprising since I don't usually like Drake singing) and Fireworks. From Take Care I hate Marvin's Room because I think he sounds like a bitch whining to his ex to take him back like that and I don't like Take Care.

Fireworks is really good too. y

I suppose it's the business behind mainstream music that is more troubling.

Sure. Most of the music I listen to is classic rock/alternative, but at the same time, I love Taylor Swift.

I hate that people try to listen to certain types of music just to be seen a certain way/"fit in"/etc. People should just listen to what they like without having to wait and ponder whether or not their music fits a particular genre or if they would be judged a certain way for liking it.
