I don't think older people deserve more respect than younger people. Everyone deserves respect regardless and just because they've "been through everything" doesn't mean they deserve any more respect than, say, a college student.

I think OP means no one respects old people. Most people just ignore them and move on.

I love listening to stories from when they were younger, as nerdy/stupid as that sounds. My grandparents have so many stories to tell.

You're not alone. I've gotten my dad to tell me the same stories about him growing up in the 50's soo many times. Older people like to talk about the good old days. And if you notice, so do people our own age. We just don't have quite as much to tell.

Some old people are really bitter though. Some don't respect younger people which makes it hard to respect them.

Sometimes maybe, but they drive slow, get angry about the little things, don't respect us and not so much "experienced" as stuck in their ways.
