+96 It's not whether a politician "deserves" to be elected. Really, it doesn't matter what they want, or what would be good for them. It's about what's good for the people they serve, amirite?

I'm having trouble making sense of the first sentence. If a politican deserves to be elected, then by definition, they would be interested in serving the people rather than just themselves. Therefore I think it's fine to vote for a politician because they "deserve" it.

What I was trying to say was that the presidency (or other political office) isn't a reward, it's a hard job. So, its not "Does little Johnny deserve a lollipop?" its "Is little Johnny old/mature/responsible enough to have a lollipop?"

obviously they want to be elected or they wouldn't run for office... then the electoral district decide if they "deserve "it....
