+104 Four dimensions means something completely different to scientists than it does to movie producers. Shrek sneezing on me does not mean I am experiencing the fourth dimension, amirite?

I think the term is 4th wall though.

Breaking the fourth wall means the actors addressing the audience as if they know they are in the same universe.

To a scientist, a dimension is a direction in which the universe exists. From what I understand, to a movie producer, it is a way people are stimulated. 1D means a simple story, 2D is a regular movie with a storyline that entertains people older than 3 years old, 3D means there is perspective outside the screen and 4D means shit touches you.

ya it pisses me off when no one knows that the fourth dimension (when referred to spatially) means moving along an axis that is perpendicular to ALL the original three dimensions that we're seeing right now. as an analogy, imagine a Flat-Guy moving up or down in Flatland

I always thought the 4th dimension was time. Am I wrong about this?
