It just happens most the time nature gets cut down it's for the sake of progress of expansion and most the time something made by man gets destroyed it's for no reason at all, the correlation doesn't equal causation. Ex: some kids kicked down Officer Dave's tree at our school, they got suspended for vandalism. When a building gets torn down to make room for a road or something, that's progress. It has nothing to do if man or nature made it, it has to do with "is it being destroyed for shits and giggles or for a good reason?" that dictates if it's in the name of vandalism or in the name of progress.
