+120 You wonder how many religious people would still be religious if their religion mentioned nothing about an afterlife, amirite?

Religiousness Do good deeds to please God He who has given countless blessings showing gratefulness to Him for the blessings

I do wonder about this, but I think they probably would. In my head, it seems religion was created to give people an understanding of their creation. An afterlife is a nice aspect of it, but I don't think it's the reason people are religious. I think the reason people are religious is because it give meaning to their life and offers an explanation to their existence.

I think all religions are just an understanding of where we're from and where we're going. People want a sense of direction, to look back and be able to squint forward, because without that it's just dark. It becomes unknown, and we as a species do not maintain very good composure when dealing with the unknown. Before oceanic exploration there were tales of sea creatures. Abandoned houses sparks the thought of ghosts and the paranormal. Heck, even when we think about out of the Earth we think aliens. Without religion we're left as a speck and we're alive and going to die and then? Potato.

My problem is I don't belie there is a god who created us all and is in power. I strongly belive in science: evolution, the Big Bang, that stuff. Though I respect every other religion, for example, my family is all Catholicos, we do fight quite a bit though... I RESPECT YOU ALL!!

I also have many religious friends, also non religious friends, we are all equal and that's all. Just be nice, don't fight, and LOVE:)
