+62 Americans: Its not that you care less about the rest of the world than people from other countries do, it has more to do with the fact that it is much more necessary for you to seek out the information about other countries' than people from those countries have to because American politics are talked about so much, amirite?

This is the most ignorant post ever, so bias. The rest of the world know the same amount of american politics as isreali, chinese, russian politics etc. Its just americans assume they are the centre of the world and everyone cares about them but newsflash america, you aren't the superpower anymore China is. Also, the reason the world watch american politics is because it's a huge laughing stock, you elect impotent idiots.

I, as an American, do not think that America is the center of the world, and know plenty of people that think the same. But in no way do I think that there aren't a lot of Americans who do think that. I agree with you again, in many ways China is more powerful than us. But this post was made from the impression I've gotten from hearing about other countries. That compared to America, people in other countries know a lot more about world politics than us because of their news. And also because from my experience american politics are talked about a lot on the internet, more so than any other country. Im assuming this is because America has so many more people (and people using the internet) than most other countries. And in regards to your last remark, I would agree that sometimes it seems as though we elect idiots, but what do you expect when you have to basically chose between to seemingly idiotic candidates. And I think to a lot, if not most americans, our political system is a laughing stock, but for us it's not very amusing because it's our government. It slightly upsetting for me to watch the presidential debates knowing that one of these seemingly extremely petty people...

.. is going to be president. I am also very tired of seeing Americans shitted on for being stupid and ignorant. Im not saying some of us aren't, theres ignorance everywhere, but I dont like being stereotype just like the rest of the world. We're no better or worse than the rest of the world, because we are all human.
