A singer should never lip-sync at a concert, amirite?

To lip-sync properly is an art ... today's "singers" are not artists ... many can sing (some quite nicely) but they are NOT artists ... so I agree, they shouldn't lip-sync - major concert fail!

I listen to a lot of extreme metal. The artists play with a lot of speed, precision, and complexity. If they can be bothered to record such insane music and still play it live, pop-artists should be able to sing their relatively simple songs live.

Well if I liked a band but they were terrible live I'd rather hear lip syncing that sounds like the songs do on the album as opposed to a botched version of the songs.

Fuck. Off. You troglodyte.

Nice word choice.

Any REAL artist sounds good live no matter the circumstances. They don't make real artists anymore

So not true. Maybe you've been listening to the wrong ones.

You have to account for singers who might have caught something that has affected their voice. They don't want to cancel a concert and disappoint fans, they don't want to sing awfully and disappoint fans, so they simply pretend, and as far as anyone outside of the loop is concerned, they're getting the same experience as if it were being performed live.

If they lip sync and pretend to be singing, then the people who paid to hear real singing would just be wasting their money on a lie.

A lie that hopefully they're none the wiser to, which means they'd still have exactly as good a time as hearing them live, and an even better time than having them cancel a show or sing with laryngitis.
