+78 You've had to spend 5 minutes of class listening to some dumb kid not understanding why x<6 is equal to 6>x before, amirite?

I swear, his exact quote (except the number) was, "I still don't get it. Why is it that if x is smaller than 6, then 6 is bigger than x? Why can't it be x is smaller than 6 and 6 is smaller than x?" Then we all just stared at him and comprehension dawned on his face. Apparently he never considered that it's true by elimination.

This happens in my class a lot this year. And the don't even deserve the excuse of saying they're bad at math because stuff like that is just pre-school logic.

I applaud him for saying he's confused. Most refuse to and get further behind. Give him a break. Not everyone is good at everything. It might be preschool logic, yes, but everyone has to learn it. No one is born knowing it and everyone learns different things at different paces.
