+16 i'm incredibly nervous I am going to get diabetes. I love sugar & candy, but i should probably be careful, amirite?

Well, if you're overweight it could increase you're chances of getting diabetes. If you eat alot, but you workout that ok. But you should really try to eat better, cause if you get diabetes you can never eat sweet again.

Type 2 diabetes is a metabolic disease; it can also be caused by genetics. If your family has a genetic predisposition for type 2 diabetes, and you present with major risk factors such as obesity and lack of exercise, you should probably start a diet and start exercising. If you are not motivated, seek out the help of a personal trainer or a health care professional. It would also be a good idea to have your blood sugar checked to determine if you are pre-diabetic, which could eventually turn into type 2 diabetes. Good luck!
