A universal language spoken for convenience would be nice, so long as we don't lose individual cultural languages.

That would eradicate a large part of culture though. Why couldn't people be bilingual?

Well it would start with inventing a new language, then making everyone bilingual, learning how to retain culture with that language (which may take however long it needs, probably decades), then slowly putting more and more emphasis on the new language until it's all that's used

Pretty sure that's impossible, there will always be countries too poor for proper education and there will always be too big of a population for everyone to be connected this closely

Not //always//. This is talking about //eventually//, which can be whenever the world is ready for it, which I think it will someday be. Let's face it, the world has improved so much in standard of living in the past hundreds of years. You can't possible tell me that it will never get good enough to have public education for everyone. The world has a longs ways to go. I don't think it will be hitting a brick wall anytime soon
