+127 a wedding lasts a day, but a marriage lasts a lifetime, so it should require greater preparation, amirite?

yeah, I LOL every time I read about a celeb couple's multi-million dollar wedding, and then 6 months later when they divorce XD marriage is supposed to be a commitment. If people are more focused are on the flashy wedding rather than on their future life together, then the wedding is really pointless

Well weddings take a TON of preparation if that's what you mean. If you mean that the relationship before marriage is preparation; that's really general, or targeted to one couple. People can get married within months, or even a decade.

I would consider the time spent together before the marrage counts as preperation, and that's more time than it takes planning the wedding.
