+255 It's strange to think that people could be born at exactly the same moment, but have different birthdays due to timezones, amirite?

Why is that strange? What's really strange is that if we accept the notion of time that had no beginning and has no end, then we all have the same birthday, effectively.

...what?

If we assume time to be infinite, then an event occurring today is the same as an event occurring 10 years from now (temporally speaking of course). This is so because relative to infinity, 10 years passing by is the same as no time passing by. As a result, you could call events simultaneous.

There are an infinite number of numbers, but that does not mean that 3 and 8392 are the same thing.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Sure it does. Relative to infinity those numbers are worth 0.

The span of time is irrelevant to a person's birthday. Sure, "relatively" you could say we were born simultaneously, but birthdays are specifically 24 hours on Earth.
