Not really. We're already seeing the next step first hand: streaming over the internet. With that comes increasingly higher resolution video, limited only by the progress of computer monitor displays. DVDs and blu-rays are already dying out, they've become outclassed. Considering the analogue revival / revolution which has come with this decade, I can actually anticipate a slight comeback of dated video formats, similarly to vinyl records, although not to the same extent. We're already seeing it happen with cassettes, VHS could well be next.
