+16 The US Mint ought to stop making pennies, nickels and quarters, and only make dimes and half-dollars. We should ditch cents (1/100th of a dollar) and switch to "decs" (1/10th of a dollar), so there's only one digit beyond the decimal point. We'll save a fortune in ink!!! Amirite?

That's because we've made the arbitrary choice to divide up the dollar by 100, and set that as the smallest increment. Since a minute of minimum wage labor is more than a dime, why not switch to a system that divides the dollar into ten? With only one digit to the right of the decimal point, exact change could be made with dimes and half-dollars.

Just switch to Australian money.. 5 cent coin, 10 cent, 20, 50, 1 dollar coin, 2 dollar coin, notes in 5,10,20,50,100
