Well NOW he's in the middle, with his two younger brothers and his two older brothers, but I was confused at the beginning of the series when he WASN'T in the middle.

I dunno if they meant it THAT literally, I think it's cause he was kind of in the middle of all the weird stuff happening around him. If it was as cut and dried as him being the middle child, then I guess the people who made the show decided to bring in that pointless baby so it did make sense.

Actually, he has 2 older brothers, Francis and Reese and 2 younger brothers, Dewey and Jamie He's #3 out of 5 so he's perfectly in the middle

Well before it was Dewey, Malcolm, Reece and Francis. But Francis never really lived with them so Malcolm was in the middle of the other 2. But then it balances out in the end Jamie, Dewey, Malcolm, Reece, Francis
