Well, according to the bible a baby doesn't have life until it has blood that flows (it's not a direct quote, but that's what it says). So, if we're going the religious route, a baby isn't a living thing until a few weeks into pregnancy. I'm assuming this is going towards religion so I might as well jump start it. But I agree, an embryo isn't the same thing as a baby. If it was, it would be called a baby.

buuut an embryo is the start of a baby.... embryos are cells, yes? cells are living things too.

i get what you are saying. but a seed is still a plant, even if it hasn't grown yet.
