+118 Evolution is much more plausible than creationism, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"oh hey lets bend and twist facts to make it look like the earth came from an atom in outer space, and people evolved into highly functioning humans."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yea and saying there's some dude up in the clouds spiting mankind, causing floods and giving us all a free pass to eternal happiness is more probable? What kind of drugs did you put in your cereal this morning? Evolution is and always will be more probable than an higher being, and if you won't admit that obviously you should just quit school now and go work at McD's because you're too fucking stupid to do anything else with your life.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hahaha whatever. look the fuck around you, and i'm pretty sure if you stop being so narrow minded to religion you'll realize that not everything has to be scientifically proven, that something greater than us does exist. yeah coday is right when he says i don't know much about the "big bang theory", i know enough to know that it says we came from some kind of explosion, that this whole highly complex world just happened to come together...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How else do you propose to prove things?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ehh, we both know that neither of us are gonna change what we believe..i got what i believe and what i see and what i know, so thats really what matters to me..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My problem with some religions is that, I don't see how they can say evolution doesn't happen, when it happens all the time. Evolution is pretty much a proven fact, yet nobody can prove to me that there is a god. Science can prove to me what happened, and religion can't.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

how is evolution a proven fact exactly? i've never seen a knew species come from a pre-existing one.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*new

by Anonymous 13 years ago

thats because you can't observe evolution in a short time. it takes hundreds of years and research (which people have done) to show that evolution has happened. Usually, evolution is just evolving to suit your needs. Here is one example http://evolution.berkeley.edu/evolibrary/news/060901_mussels Science doesn't prove things, it observes things, and evolution has been observed just as much as math, or gravity has been observed

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@147504. I do look around me, that's how I know science is more probable than religion. What's more plausible, me praying to get healed or a doctor injecting me with meds and then I get better. You supposedly work a hospital you should know (if you really do work at a hospital, I find that bit hard to believe) And if you open your mind a little bit (talk about being closed minded) you'll realize that you're living a lie and that it's better to REALLY know what's going on in the world then believing in some dude with a beard up in the sky can solve all your problems. And perhaps you should research the big bang theory before you talk about it. It wasn't an explosion like you would think a bomb would explode, in fact there was a just a news article that came out about how scientists discovered more about matter and info on how the earth started. You should google it. Religion is more like your mind is open so wide your brains are falling out. Do you believe things blindly ...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

just because people tell you too? If someone told you 2 2=54 would you believe it? I hope not, I hope you would have enough sense to realize that's improbable and do your own research rather than believing some "higher being" can solve all your problems and grant you eternal happiness...yea cause that sounds probable.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't think you have any clue about what the big bang theory says.

How do you have a good job at a hospital if you're not even done with HS? At the very least you have a crappy intern job at the bottom of the totem pole, unless you know someone who works there that got you that job; and if that's the case you didn't deserve it and wouldn't have the smarts or skills to get it without the help of someone pushing your application along.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

haha your silly, i got the job because i went through several interviews and I must of done something right. (my job is in the dietary dept. I enter data, diets etc. I'm just saying I don't need a job at mcds...thats all..& i very much so deserve the job, i'm a hard worker and not stupid in any way.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

why is it so hard to believe that god created the world through evolution?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Because that's the simple man's way of thinking, that God is responsible for creating everything. Think about it like this- what about all of the people that were born before the bible was written, and died before it was written, they didn't believe in God, nor did they follow the 10 commandments, does this mean they are all going to hell?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no. hell is for those who reject god and his love. you can't reject him if you never knew him. that's the same way i feel about atheists. a lot of them are good people who've never heard of the real god, and are simply rejecting some distorted image of him. there's hope for those people.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i just ignored the flame war above me completely, so if i'm redundant please say so. Evolutionism and Creationism are not the same thing. One must first identify a legitimate basis for the universe as we know it. Creationism applies to that. Evolutionism only applies to the origin of the Human Race. As for Creationism and the Origin of Man: I personally believe God created the human race and continues to love it and watch over it. In terms of plausibility, I don't see how I could evolve the way my body is now. I am a perfect machine. Down to the functions of the organelles in my smallest cells, perfection reigns. And what of the Laws of Thermodynamics? A proven law states that all things in the universe go from order to disorder. Evolution goes against this, and still has no answer to this challenge except silence.

Ok, I'm sorry, I have been in enough discussions about this before where I've resisted from saying what I've really wanted to say because religious people are so touchy, but here it is. if you honestly believe in god, i actually pity you because it is such a stupid concept. there are so many flaws with the earth, and people keep saying that they dont believe evolution cause the earth is too perfect, well its not. and if the earth isnt perfect, which it is far from it, why would god make it this way? cause it doesnt exist

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Of course the Earth isn't perfect: it's called sin, dude. But hey i'm a religious guy and i'm not mad at you. I just want to try to explain my beliefs.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

As whoever said up there, arguing religion is pointless, so I apologize my getting involved. I won't change your beliefs, and you won't change my beliefs (or lack thereof)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ok. but if you're ever bored i respectfully suggest you read Case for a Creator by Lee Strobel

by Anonymous 13 years ago

we can all call each other stupid, but that gets us nowhere, the earth isn't perfect because God didn't intend for it to be, simple as that...Christianity can explain alot of this...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Shhhhhhhhhhh.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I am religious, and I think that this statement is biased, but I guess I can see why the OP believes that. Plus arguing about it isn't gonna help, you're all going to walk out of this believing the exact same thing as you did before. Also, relating to the second comment, really? Name-calling? Just because Flyer believes in a higher being doesn't mean she's stupid. Calling her stupid doesn't help your argument at all. If anything it makes you sound immature.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

question for all of those who don't believe in a higher power; where did that first atom that exploded into the universe come from? if not from a higher power

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Then where did the higher power come from?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the higher power (God) was there, (its a tricky concept no doubt), but He is God therefore nothing created him, he just was. I admit, even typing this it sounds incomprehensible but It's what i know to be true.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

where did the higher power come from. you don't know. the topic of creation is impossible for the human mind to comprehend. You simply cannot think what it would be like before anything ever was. I personally believe that the universe always was here nothing created it. You cant create something from nothing. Because you simply cannot think about how the universe was created, people came up with stories of gods and higher powers. Many of us laugh now at the fact that the ancient civilizations such as the romans and the greeks came up with fantastic stories of gods that explained things. Now people believe in a guy who was born from a virgin, could walk on water, and miraculously heal people. there is not even any legit proof of a god besides some book that nobody can verify. It takes an idiot to believe this stuff. the truth is that god is just something inside of you to bring you closer to one another and give you hope for something better.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If you believe the universe has been around forever, why couldn't you believe that a higher power was?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I laugh at the people who think that the Big Bang really happened. Why? Because the first scientist who proposed the Big Bang Theory believed in God. But he knew that if God existed, he would technically be "owned" by God, and he didn't want to be owned by anybody. So he MAAAAAAAADE UPPPPPPPPP the Big Bang Theory so that he (and millions of other people) could pretend that the universe poofed out of nowhere.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sounds like you just made this up.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm starting to get very tired of this discussion. You believe what you believe. I believe what I believe. There's no point in fighting and name calling. It just makes everyone sound like jerk. When we all die we'll find out which is true.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

neither are even a tad bit plausible. they're both just "facts" made up by human beings to explain what can't be explained. if people keep on arguing about it, why don't they kill themselves so they can find out... but honestly, i don't believe in any of the modern religions. it sounds a bit crazy that the "truth" was found out so late in man's history. if anything, some of the earlier religions would make more sense. just my personal opinion.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Personally, religion is stupid. Yes, evolution may be more plausible but I have not once seen evolution be proved. I mean if humans came from some sort of bacteria, atom, or matter, where did the bacteria, atom, or matter come from?
