The catholic religion is such a dictatorship, they have you on your knees for mercy, worshipping one man, and praying for your salvation. They persecute the gays just as hitler did to the jews, amirite?

I go to Catholic school and I feel the exact way stated. It's not that I don't like being Catholic or disagree with its ways, I just feel like they do things in the wrong way.

Catholic schools can get a little bit pushy, but once you leave it and go out into public schools or get a career, you will appreciate what you did there alot more.

Their discrimination against homosexuals is no where NEAR as bad as what Hitler did to the Jews. Worshiping a loving God is not the same as being forced to obey a dictator. Praying for salvation is so much easier than believing that you have to be good and that only good works can save you. And sometimes when I pray, I actually do feel so dirty and sinful that I feel so low and not worthy of God's love that I actually do get on my knees. I'm a Protestant [Baptist. =D], but I still just wanted to say that.

Um no, actually. Half of that stuff is exaggerated... Have you REALLY seen a homosexual concentration camp? How is worshiping one man or praying wrong? It is not hurting anyone else like Hitler did. How can anyone be HURT by praying? No one is forcing you to get on one knee or even believe in God. My church does not persecute homosexuals, and in fact, gay couples are allowed to attend mass! How is that discriminatory? The only reason we have a bad reputation is because of extremists that do not even represent us as a whole. We are not ALL bad, trust someone who actually knows what they are talking about.

You couldn't be anymore wrong. When you pray you're not on your on your knees begging for mercy. You can pray about anything. Maybe asking that you do good on a test, or to keep your family healthy. Lay down, sit in a chair, stand up, God couldn't care less how you pray. So what if you're worshiping one God. Jews and Muslims do too. Do you know how many people you just offended by that statement. We're not forced to worship one god, that's what we believe. And have you seen anyone persecuting gays because I haven't. Just because it might be a minor part of your religion doesn't mean you have to support it. I'm Catholic and I feel the same towards gay and straight people. We're not trying to kill all the gays in the world. We're not putting badges on them saying GAY, making them go into hiding, or trying to make a perfect race. So don't you dare say its a dictatorship.

About the whole gay thing.... I was on omegle talking to a Catholic person. More of a debate, really. The person said they hated homosexuals because they went against God and his creations. No one was born gay, they had a choice. In reality, that's not true. It's just how the brain is formed. People who do hate homosexuals think it's because they CHOOSE to be. They choose to go against God's teachings. They choose to "destroy the meaning of marriage". It's not true at all.

Fuck people. Shut up. For the people who were Protestant, this post isn't about you. For the people who ARE Roman Catholic, the vast majority of churches do not support homosexual marriages. There may be homosexuals in the congregation, but the church will not marry them. Also, the Roman Catholic church refuses to view my parents as married. Why? Because they got married in an Anglican church. Now, I am atheist, but I don't mind if people are Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, whatever religion, as long as you don't preach it to everyone. Being gay IS a sin, whether you like it or not. It says so RIGHT THERE IN THE BIBLE. And sure, maybe they are born with it, but people are born being greedy or lustful too. You just have to control it! But they're not any more sinful than anyone else; the thing is that people accept it and embrace it when they shouldn't instead of disapproving of it like they are of anger or hatred. Also, what do you have against Catholics? First of all, everything you said applies to ALL CHRISTIANITY, and second, Catholics are just as Christian as everyone else, so quit saying stuff like that it gets really old. God loves everyone even though we're ALL SINERS. So quit being rude about stuff that you don't even understand and quit acting like you're somehow better than everyone else. Personally i think calling it a dictatorship is a bit too extreme. However, a lot of people are forced into believing a religion because of their parents: they are forced to go to mass every week, take their first communion/confirmation and pray to a God that they do not believe in. And if they try to break away from this they can get disowned from by their parents and shunned by certain members of society.
