+281 You're kind of surprised after all this time no one has found the CURE for cancer, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There are too many different types of cancers out there for them to all have a solitary cure.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If they cure something they make money once. If you they treat something, they're making money again, and again, and again. I bet theres 10 different ways they've found to cure a lot of terminal diseases, but HEY! We have STOCKHOLDERS! Gotta love Capitalism

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah me and some friends had that discussion once, that they had probably found a cure, but chemo is to much of an income. I'm not sure if I believe it, I mean, how could a person that knows someone who has died of cancer do that. That's terribly cruel if you ask me..I mean I guess I do believe that people would do it, I would just rather not...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No believe it. The Drug companies won't provide it for the people. The government doesn't want it sold because they're in bed with the drug companies, and I know its sick, but population control. The worlds an evil place. Even if I personally were to come up with a cure for cancer, theres a million different ways the drug companies and/or the government would stop me from giving it to a single person.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well in Canada we wouldn't have that problem. So any research here is genuine

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't believe that because there are people within the government and families of people in the government. Saying that they would hide the cure is saying that they would let their family die.

I can relate to that. I have a condition called cholinergic urticaria, which basically means that everytime I am exposed to heat or physical activity my skin starts burning and itching uncontrollably. There is no cure, but there would be if research is done on it (scientists are too lazy to figure it out, since it's not "life threatening"). We have to take antihistamines and other shit that doesn't even work that well. Seriously, fuck greedy people.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I doubt it's "scientists are too lazy", pretty sure it's a funding issue.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How much goddamn money do they need? All these years donations have been pouring in for 'research' and most of it has gone to finding the 'cure' for cancer, which either hasn't been found yet or is being hidden from us. I'm not implying that scientists are lazy, but I don't think funding is the issue either.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah but donations go to specific projects. There probably wouldn't be enough donations/high priority for drug companies to fund research for that person's skin condition. I know you weren't implying that scientists are lazy the person who I was replying to said that they were for not figuring out the cure to their non-life threatening skin condition that can be treated with antihistamines.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why must you all-cap the word "cure"? I find that quite distracting

by Anonymous 13 years ago

emphasis, you know- cure, not treatments.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

There actually is a cure for cancer but the government says it's "illegal" to use because they won't make a profit from it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Embryonic stem cells actually have a big capacity of curing cancer but it is too much of a controversial issue to follow through with.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

thats why i think people that believe embryonic stem cell researchis wrong are crazy. if your mother had cancer, you would let her die because you dont 'agree' with embryonic stem cell research? i just cant believe people oppose doing things like that that save people that are alive and loved by many just to save an unborn baby. you can get pregnant again. you cant get another mother.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Stem cell research has shown so much more promise than embryonic; why kill a life?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I never said I was for it, I just said it was a possible cure. Honestly, I am probably more against it than for it. It kind of defeats the cause to kill a life to save one.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How do you prevent a mutation? Especially when a mutation is so random anyway?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

not prevent. cure...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You must not know someone that's had an abortion or a miscarage. Just because the baby isn't born yet doesn't mean that it doesn't have tons of people that love it. I've heard so many stories from people who have had abortions and completley regret it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i bet its something so dumb no ones thought of it. like "consume a cinnamon scented candle while singing let it be by the beatles."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Cancer isn't something you can just cure. Take skin cancer for an example: when you tan, the UV rays from the sun will kill tons of your skin cells, and mutate many others. The mutated cells will begin to reproduce rapidly, trying to replace the skin cells that were killed. The mutated cells will be unable to stop reproducing, as they have lost their ability to control the rate at which they go through mitosis. This causes a tumor. To cure cancer, you would have to find a way to reverse the mutation of your cells. This isn't a matter of finding a medicine to fight a bacteria, no - it's finding a way to fix damage that has already been done. The only cure for cancer is to take care of your body.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well, that's what you think but diseases and such that were thought impossible to cure before our now cured due to increased technology, therefore you can't say it's not possible because you can't be aware of the future's technology.
