Welfare, Tanf, food stamps, section 8 housing assistance….

I know there's assistance for the poor. At the same time though it's a pretty common view that giving the poor free stuff is bad. The wealthy on the other hand can be gifted, and it's perfectly normal to do so. For example. If they raised food stamp benefits for the poor there's gonna be a lot of people upset, and pushback. If the rich get more tax breaks, free flights, discounted, or gifted land/buildings you get hardly a grumble.

SF spends $60k per homeless person each year on meals, ect ect. All without requiring them to clean up and get off drugs. Beyond that there are programs for the poor for free cell phones, internet ect ect as well as housing vouchers. This isn't to shoot down programs, but it is disingenuous to make remarks that the poor do not receive aid / free stuff. Now, if you are going into specifics on what the wealthy get, I'm sure there is some breakdown on the benefits (though I doubt it's across the board, and is a direct result of people who have found and utilize the existing systems set in place, which would likely be the same as the people in need)

It's more a view of how it's perceived rather than what each group gets. I know there's aid for the poor, but the general view of giving stuff to the poor for free is usually negative while gifting the wealthy is normalized.

Exactly, makes no sense...

Rewarding rich people incentivises them to work harder, but rewarding poor people has the opposite affect. It's called Right Wing 101

It does seem to be the unfortunate common view.
