Today's outspoken and language regulators are the next Karens and Chads. amirite?

The problem i have is that they want to shut people's voices down only when it counters their agenda or opinion. They don't want freedom of speech for all, they want freedom of speech for their ideals and opinions only.

I have strong feelings towards the Palestine/Israel war but I don't think people should not allowed to protest or express themselves because their feelings are different then mine. That would be absurd, ridiculous, and childish.

Survivorship bias. Why are we assuming every boomer was a hippy? Many of them were squares or dweebs that supported the war in vietnam in their time too. That's like gen alpha assuming all gen x/millennials were punks, meanwhile there are plenty of Rittenhouse-types or nerds that go "well, ackshuhlee, marijuana is BAD for you"

I believe there is some psychological term related to this behavior but I can't recall it at the moment. When someone is so vocally against a behavior or lifestyle but only as a mechanism to hide or suppress their behaviors. Damn, I can't think of it. Gotta go back to my Psychology courses.

Culture progresses quickly and our elders find it harder and harder to recognize the world they grew up in. They're mostly decent people, but put them online where everything is a crisis, they'll break down. I've always said more metered progress would be better than being constantly out for blood and demanding reform on every menial complaint while real problems get a Band-Aid before moving on and bleeding for the next decade or so, but "calm down" doesn't go over so well with either side lately.
