-25 Therapy is a scam targetting women, amirite?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Men suffer in silence until they either break through or fail spectacularly You say this, then say that the alternative is a scam? I don't think that most people would consider not suffering and not failing spectacularly as a scam.

Therapy usually doesnt work for men, unless its to deal with combat ptsd and is extremely specialized. Women have the illusion it works, spend more money on general, unspecific diagnoses, and get nowhere

by Anonymous 1 week ago

You just said therapy is specialised but then told us that it's only good for combat PTSD. Pick a lane you confusingly wrong individual.

by Affectionate-War7441 1 week ago

Believe it or not men can also attend therapy. Wow mindblown

by priscilla18 1 week ago

Whooosh. Men can also be scammed? Whoda thunkdit

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I haven't been scammed. I'm actually making a ton of progress!

Therapy is primarily based on women so its helpful.. Not for men

by Wuckertlavern 1 week ago

Lying to women isnt helpful, it just appears so to the vulnerable one

by Anonymous 1 week ago

What kind of lies...womens problem are mostly neurosis in nature not materialistic..so therapy is good

by Wuckertlavern 1 week ago

Neuroticism is not solved by talking or spending money

by Anonymous 1 week ago

There is no other way

by Wuckertlavern 1 week ago

The literature points towards action, not more talk which leads to more neurosis

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Oh they will give u tasks

by Wuckertlavern 1 week ago

Many men go to therapy. I'm one of them

by Temporary_Practice34 1 week ago

How is that working out for you? 100 bucks a session to talk about what?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

It's worth the $20 to talk through my issues and get a different perspective

by Temporary_Practice34 1 week ago

Its not 20 dollars, and if it was its 20 dollars wasted.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I think I know what I pay better than you

Therapy helped my daughter go from having complete inconsolable, irrational, hours long meltdowns over everything and nothing where the only solution was to leave the house so she could burn out, to being rational, much more calm, reasonable and compliant. This "scam" made our household much more quiet and happy, filled with more laughter and so much less screaming.

by Only-Gur 1 week ago

Tbf fair, though, it does seem to work better for women.

Scientology is literally anti psychiatry, it's one of their most well known beliefs, I don't get the comparison

by Anonymous 1 week ago

and the people who practice it are more likely to be narcissists compared to the average population Says who? Largely, Men suffer in silence until they either break through or fail spectacularly In my personal experience this was more often the result of lacking affordability and continuous access. Were it actually truly widely affordable even trying it in the first place would seem a more attractive thing than it is to most now.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

While all true, I genuinely believe that if it were actually affordable and readily accessible in many places, a lot of men would more readily consider it. I myself balk at the potential cost and hassle. Even in favorable conditions therapy as a treatment can have a fairly slow progress.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

You should probably go to therapy if you think this way

by Anonymous 1 week ago

People who can see the clear conflicts of interest in highly educated professionals should get therapy? Wow thats pretty naive.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

If you're using a free toothbrush, I would wager your mouth and your butthole smell strikingly similar.

by hweber 1 week ago

I don't think I have ever been to a dentist that doesn't have free toothbrushes...

by Anonymous 1 week ago

You're relying on a toothbrush from the free bin for your oral health? Do you also considered gas station hotdogs a nutritious meal?

by hweber 1 week ago

I don't understand the level of stupid you're using to make whatever point it is that you think you're trying to make.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

That "paywall" is less than $10 a month. Therapy is $100 per session.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I mean statistically speaking women still make less than men so wouldn't it follow (with this stupid logic) that men are the ones more likely to be able to afford therapy?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

This is misogynistic, uneducated, stupid almost to a trolling level, and kind of sad if you actually think this way. Be better.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Come back with a rebuttal.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Lol it's not misogynistic. It's everything else you said and more but not misogynistic

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Yeah I don´t know where the misoginy supposedly is in this either.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

OP didn't even say 1 single negative thing about Women 😂😂 They said a bunch of illogical stuff about therapy

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Exactly. Unless you´re one of those people that denies that men and women are different and thus are differently affected by mental health problems and their possible solutions. Which´d be insane.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Wow, you really couldn't have said that and dumber now could you? Lol.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Whoa, hot take.. lol. I am a woman, I don't go but have in the past. I'm not sure if this is true. The people I know who have been to therapy seem to need it and leave if it's not helpful or if they can't afford it. I have known just as many men as women I think, it's never struck me as more popular with either gender. Idk, obviously this is based off of your experience/ perspective.. I just can't say I have noticed this. I haven't known many people who are in therapy if they don't really need it (probably because it's so expensive)

by glendahyatt 1 week ago

Someone's wife is in therapy and someone doesn't like it because someone is too scared to do it themselves
