+277 People who say, "I have OCD" just because they want to control whatever you're doing that bothers them are some of the worst kind of people, amirite?

Sadly, I actually DO have it. Along with ADD, ADHD, depression problems, and anger management. bahahahaha! i have serious problems lol

Aren't ADD and ADHD the same thing?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'm pretty sure ADD is just like you can't pay attention to someone, but ADHD is that and you're really fidgety and would rather run around than sit and rest.

"Saying I have mental problems makes me edgy, unique, and cool! Look at me everybody!"

ADD is a subtype of ADHD with fewer symptoms. If you have ADHD, you don't need to say you have both.

I DO have OCD, though, and it's not so much that I try to control people, I just go behind them and fix whatever they messed up. That sounds horrible, I know, but it's the truth. Like, say someone comes over to my house and I tell them not to touch or move anything unless I tell them it's okay, but then they go and move my remote or a chair or something, not to be a dick, just because that's something they normally do, then we have a problem. My particular type of OCD is the kind where everything has to be in it's place and everything has to be symmetrical, so if they move something even after I told them not to, I have to go right behind them and put that remote or that chair back where it belongs, otherwise it'll drive me nuts to the point where I can't even hold a conversation with them until I fix whatever they messed up. So not all people who claim to have OCD are controlling assholes, some ACTUALLY have it and can't help what it does to them sometimes. It's just like any other mental disorder, only, because of lying assholes, it doesn't always get treated as such. Some people just don't understand that, some days, it's you versus your OCD. And sometimes OCD wins.

Same here. I have to have everything in place or it bothers me. If I'm in the can isle at the grocery store, and one can is out in front while the others are pushed back, I have to push it to the back with the others or it'll bother me so much that later I'll go back to that isle and fix it. And same with the guests. If they move something out off place or put something in another position, I'll go crazy.

I have this friend who you're apparently not allowed to snap your fingers around. I snapped my fingers around her one time and she was like "STOPPPPPPPPPP! IT BUGS ME! STOP!!!!" and all of our friends were like "Gosh! Don't snap your fingers around her!! It bugs her!!!" -___-

by Anonymous 11 years ago

My god. That sounds like a noteworthy event.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You make it sound ridiculous. Why would you do something completely unnecessary around someone if it bothers them?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I didn't know it bothered her

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Oh, I thought you were talking about the fact that because it bugged her, you shouldn't do it.

Cut it off at 'People who say "I have OCD" just because' and it's still true.

I have Overly Particular Disorder (OPD). It's the term I use now so I don't diagnose my pet peeves and annoyances as a disorder that some people experience at painful levels. I wouldn't say I'm the cleanest and neatest person, but when my room is messy enough to get on my nerves, I won't sleep until I have it organized. But most importantly, things have to be in their place. I hate when friends come over and move shit around without putting it back. It pisses me off thinking about it. Like I said though, it's mostly a pet peeve and not an actual disorder.

I do have OCD. When we have group projects in class I try so hard not to be bossy. But I do have to write everything so I make sure it's neat and organized.
