Every kind of movie needing to have romance is stupid, and I'm kinda sick of it. amirite?

I kind of have the same thing, but with sex scenes. For example I liked the storyline of Outlander, but the never ending sex scenes just made me hate it so much! I get there wasn't much else to do back in the day, but COME ON. I'd rather watch them do laundry or make dinner at some point. Clip their toenails, ANYTHING but yet another sex scene.

I hope you end up finding that special someone to snuggle.

Trust me. I'm looking. But I don't want to be reminded of it when I'm watching a movie.

Yeah I also hate how everything always turns out OK in the end. I want to see some movies where everything sucks, and then it gets even worse. Remember that movie Requiem for a Dream? That movie was bleak, but at least it had an air of authenticity to it. And who can forget "AYSS TO AYSS"?

Eh, I mean, I agree that it can be too much sometimes, but when it comes to something like a sci-fi action movie like the example you used, you need a little love to ground everything and bring a some heart to all the action, drama, and violence. As long as it's written well, I don't have a problem.
