+23 People who leave their blinds/windows closed all the time are insane, amirite?

I'm in here butt naked in a bucket hat and sunglasses. No one wants to see that. Not even myself when I go infront of the mirror.

I'm in here butt naked in a bucket hat and sunglasses. Ah, a person of culture. Well met, friend.

The "beautiful morning and afternoon sunshine" makes my house 10 degrees warmer than I want it to be.

by Ancient-Bar-4191 1 week ago

Oh, look. Another glorious morning. Makes me sick!

My people.

I'm a moody bitch, and I require the ability to close myself off from the outside world to bask in the protected comfort of my home. It helps with my sense of psychological safety and is necessary for me to recharge.

Bright sunlight just really hurts my eyes and gives me headaches

by Anonymous 1 week ago

same here

by Brave_Bite 1 week ago

This too! Light is my worst migraine trigger, the fewer points of light the better.

by Ancient-Bar-4191 1 week ago

bet you are allergic to grass too

And yall wonder why you have depression

by Ok-Road4063 1 week ago

I am a lot less depressed when my skull isn't trying to split itself apart from migraines

Well I hope you are taking vitamin D if you aren't gonna get sun. Its very important.

by Ok-Road4063 1 week ago

I am! I have vitamins and supplements I take to help with it.

I'm the opposite, the darkness gives me headaches and anxiety.

by Darealisha 1 week ago

That must really suck at night? Are you having trouble sleeping?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I leave a light on and the blinds open. Plus the natural light from the stars and moon when it's full.

by Darealisha 1 week ago

Can't really help being light sensitive mate and sensitive to stimuli in general. Just much prefer a more dimly lit environment. Less likely to have a headache. less unnecessary visual input too.

Maybe I just don't like the sun?

by Erika19 1 week ago

I'm a goblin. I can't stand bright sunlight. Leave me in the dark.

Why do you care. about this? Seems a bit strange to care about that. Why do you want to look inside peoples homes?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Because the only space for my computer in my room (no other place to put it) is right by the window and I can't see with the glare

Some of us have migraines, a lot of migraines. I have the blinds and windows open at night a lot. I like moonlight and starlight. That's the level of light I can handle.

The rock i live under doesnt have windows.

Some people live in hot weather countries where it's always 30C + every day so opening the blinds mean that you're inviting more sunlight that burns your skin.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

You're ignoring temperature. I love natural light but the South African sun shining through my window can heat up my apartment by more than 5C … Some curtains stay closed so that I don't have to run my AC all the time…

I keep them closed because I hate mosquitoes and the deceases they carry more than I care about fresh air.

Window screens are a thing.

If you live in a city, opening your blinds probably just means you've turned your living room into a human zoo-box for your neighbor, whose own windows/balconies are just 15 ft. away. One of my first apartments was like this - opening blinds literally just meant staring into my neighbors house and letting them stare right back.

No thanks, darkness and machine forced air, please.

by Mountain-Tap 1 week ago

Hard agree. My neighbors, who all have health problems, have every blind closed all the time. I've had to go in occasionally to help them with things, and every light in the house is on, even at noon. Maybe if they got a touch of Vitamin D now and again they'd be better off.

Blinds open during the day (also so my cats have a perfect view to stalk the neighborhood) and closed when it's dark 👌 I let my house air out a few times a week.

Sometimes I'm just too depressed to open them. Or I just cannot see my TV screen from the light 🤷🏻‍♀️

We spent centuries perfecting the inside of our homes. I refuse to shame my ancestors work.

There used to be this commercial that showed a guy that pretty much showed a guy that had depression or PTSD. He was sitting there with his blinds closed and it implied that he should be reported for that. It was pretty funny and kind of dumb that the government feels the need to push things to that.

It's 90F here with a UV index of 10 and no breeze. It is like this a good chunk of the year. Pass on open windows most days.

by Fancy_Yellow 1 week ago

Natural sunlight is a known disinfectant. People should open their blinds and burn that musty stank away. Recommend time is 30-60 minutes.
