Outside of known acquaintances, I assume anyone or any entity trying to contact or reach me is a scam. Scammers have essentially ruined most forms of communication.

Ads ARE scams, and always have been. They're predicated on an imbalance of information between parties to get you to part with your money for more than something costs to produce. Advertising is not to benefit the consumer.
