in every vampire lore i've encountered, vampires are technically undead (died and came back) lol their human self was killed and then they come back as something that's animated but without a heartbeat. classic vampire tales. i think the term ‘undead' is just used more for zombies, but they can def go under the same umbrella

Huh ok, I guess it just usually a more.. smooth transformation (than other undead) that it doesn't seem like death, but that makes sense.
