The internet has an obsession with harming alleged pedophiles…, amirite?

The thing is that kids are innocent creatures and seeing them getting abused and hurt is heart breaking, hence the strong emotions. Same is with dogs or cats, or animals in general. They didn't hurt anyone so people react the same, or even worse if they see or hear about dogs being abused.

I get your point, the feelings are definitely heavy and come with a lot. I just do not agree nor justify the violent acts committed towards the alleged or accused simply because they have strong emotions.

People seem to forget that pedophiles have a mental illness. I don't want to defend them if they have acted out their needs. But what I mean is that they can't help their needs themselves and therefore need psychiatric help. A pedophile is not necessarily a bad person.

I was hurt by pedos a lot as a kid But it still baffles me that people refuse to accept it's a mental illness that needs to be helped. As weird as it sounds, I can respect a pedo, who realizes it's a problem, doesn't act on it, and seeks help for it, that shows more humanity to admit something people are vilified for (rightfully so, don't get me wrong)
