+21 "Hang in there!" is a garbage and condescending comfort saying. amirite?

I think it's great advice. What it's telling someone is don't quit, persevere and continue to do the hard work and the things needed to make yourself better or to survive whatever you're going through

Well I feel being told, "I believe in you" and "You'll get through this" are worse to be told. The first sounds like they aren't even listening or care. The second also is along the lines of they don't care and want to brush it aside. Being told "hang in there" doesn't mean to just wait it out. It can be interpreted multiple ways. It can mean to not give up, stay the course no matter how challenging or stressful it is. It can also mean to keep fighting it, don't give up and co tonue to push forward.
