+26 "Good vibes only" is a bad vibe. amirite?

Toxic positivity in general is annoying. I like me someone who has a little "mindless hater" to them.

by franeckivernice 1 week ago

Most toxic people I've ever met were people who preached no toxicity. People who literally dropped stuff in their lives to make sure I was okay and actually help me with serious issues? They were the assholes. Keep your nice assholes close. They actually care. They're that way for a reason usually.

Same as how cheaters are the fastest to accuse their partners of cheating, or thieves are the most afraid of being robbed, or how politicians tell on themselves with how they attack their opponents. Any man who must say, "I am the King", is no true king

by Expensive-Extent 1 week ago

Yes, a thief will never trust you and a liar will never believe you.

They also like to trot out generic and empty platitudes as their bread and butter. It's just a show in the end.

by littelewell 1 week ago

Absolutely. The English-speaking Internet is contaminated by the toxic positivity. I tried hanging on Facebook before, and just felt sick of it

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Yeah, how am I supposed to connect with someone if they dont hate something? hating together makes the bond stronger

by awaelchi 1 week ago

Toxic positivity is a real thing. People who mask their disgust in polite discourse are worse than the most unhinged people struggling to make their point. Candor is the only real measure of goodness.

by Nelson37 1 week ago

True. It's hard to read emotions through text though, but you are right.

I can't lie, people that espouse "good vibes only" really irk me. It's completely unrealistic. I don't care how wonderful of a life someone might have, they WILL have a bad day at some point. Are they going to oust someone when they briefly have some "bad" vibes and choose to express it?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I understand why people say it but it's an annoying cliche.

by Calecorkery 1 week ago

It used to be called "No Drama! I Hate Drama!"... and what do you know? It's the people who always attract drama. It's as old as time.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I generally agree (maybe not in every situation though). It seems like the majority of those types of people have an air of superiority about them and think they're super enlightened while ignoring a huge part of the human experience, which directly contradicts the teachings and actions of enlightened/awakened teachers (Buddha, Jesus, Krishna, countless yogis, saints, and mystics, etc.).

by schmelerjordan 1 week ago

Yea and "No fat chicks"

by Pauline59 1 week ago

How's that self-contradictory?

by Expensive-Extent 1 week ago

Hey at least they have a warning sign now.

by Terrible_Bid3462 1 week ago

Agree, I watched a short and it was a person saying we only want God vibes here, then proceeds to physically attack someone. .

by yundtearline 1 week ago

If it's a space that you established, why shouldn't you have the vibe that you want?

by Top_Buy 1 week ago

You absolutely can, but then it's not only good vibes, it's only vibes you want.

by Expensive-Extent 1 week ago

Which they would define as good. Are you just stuck on the fact that the person talking is using their own version of the word good? Because that's always the case with any word like that, it's not unexpected.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Yeah it's "get your differing opinions out of our circlejerk cult group"

by Anonymous 1 week ago

My point is that saying "Good vibes only" IS bringing negativity. Going into the psychonaut realm, you know well that good and bad are relatively arbitrary labels.

by Expensive-Extent 1 week ago

Toxic positivity Good Vibes Only types are the most avoidant when it comes to anything mildly inconvenient let alone serious.

by Big-Log-1022 1 week ago

The term is "toxic positivity"

by Anonymous 1 week ago

L take. My vibes are excellent and I don't want randoms ruining that. So we put up a sign, "good vibes only".

by Ok-Victory 1 week ago

Sounds kinda toxic tbh

by Expensive-Extent 1 week ago

That's ok, I'm happy to keep to good vibes to myself.

by Ok-Victory 1 week ago

I like it, thanks, I'll keep it.

by Ok-Victory 1 week ago

You're most welcome.

by Expensive-Extent 1 week ago

Ok I was sorta with you but you have to be dumb or an ah to not realize or care with what's going on in the photos

by Daisy08 1 week ago

You forgot one: Or entirely aware that that's a ridiculous comparison.

by Ok-Victory 1 week ago

Nah I can't read your mind And technically also nah as those guys do use the saying too

by Daisy08 1 week ago

Ok, so should I change good vibes only to something like wholesome humans only, would that protect me from your righteous judgement, or?

by Ok-Victory 1 week ago

Personally I would just say "no negativity please" only during some situations. Not 24/7 Secondly you're not really addressing the part where people like that do have the same thinking as you.

by Daisy08 1 week ago

i think it's pretty universal what constitutes somebody giving off good or bad vibes to be honest

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Let's be real, men don't say this lmao we know exactly who you're talking about

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Definitely have heard men say it.

by Expensive-Extent 1 week ago

Agreed. Good Vibes Only are for really soft people.
