+417 It's so annoying when some people on this site posts things that have some sort of well thought out meaning, and then, instead of making a comment involving the topic at hand, someone decides to write a comment on how that post is grammatically incorrect. I'm pretty sure those people understood exactly what the post owner was talking about, amirite?

But...it's FUN to be a Grammar Nazi!

by Anonymous 14 years ago

...smh...wow

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I'm not familiar with the acronym "smh". Could you explain it? D:

by Anonymous 14 years ago

@27231 (Spoodler): Shaking my head (smh)

by Anonymous 14 years ago

OK! :D

by Anonymous 14 years ago

lol

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Wouldn't it just be easier to type correctly, instead of complaining.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I just think that when I'm on my computer at home, I usually don't care about what I'm typing. I also, use "LOL" and "SMH". When I'm at school or writing something important, that's when I think about my grammar. When I first came on this site I didn't really expect anyone to go crazy over some grammatical errors, especially since the name of this site is "amirite". Also, It's not just me, it's happening to other people as well. I was just on another post and the post owner was saying something that made sense and instead of commenting on what she/he said, people were talking about how that person used an "a" instead of an "e" in the word effective. It's not like that person was tY3ping lyke dis.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I feel the same way.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i absolutely hate that. it's like, in stead of trying to make yourself seem intellectually superior by telling my i forgot to capitalize, how about you just address my (perfectly legitimate) point?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I* instead* me*

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you don't seem like a total douche at all. don't even worry about that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You* Don't* I'm sorry, I can't help it. When I tell people they do "good," I have to bite my lip to stop from correcting myself.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*sigh*

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It really wouldn't kill you to maintain proper grammar and spelling though, would it?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

of course not; i'm in a high-level english class and love literature- i'm capable enough to use proper grammar and spelling. however, i like to relax while at the computer. it's my choice. on the other hand, it really wouldn't kill YOU to let me be, would it?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I only correct people who are asking for it. When you accuse those who appreciate grammar of trying to make themselves feel "intellectually superior," that's asking for it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yes, i also said that they do it to ignore my point. which, incidentally, you're doing right now. iif Ur gonna tiipe lyke di$, or something along those lines, then yeah- get out and learn how to spell. i, however, don't capitalize (which doesn't hamper your ability to read efficiently), and occasionally miss correct punctuation (which i don't do on purpose- i just type like i talk so it looks a bit odd). when i made a very good argument on something and forget a comma, you only commenting on my lack of commas just tells me you're an arrogant jerk that has no counter-argument. that's my point. and you continuously pointing out my errors frankly just makes you look like you're trying to provoke me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

At a certain point, it's fun to point out errors that jerks like you make. I completely understood the point you were trying to make; that's WHY I corrected you, as a joke. Unfortunately, you were too busy looking to insult me to pull your head out of your @$$ and lighten up. As a matter of fact, I am addressing your point, with each comment.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

first, the douche comment was sarcasm, i wasn't totally serious, though i was a bit annoyed considering. i wasn't looking to insult you until you continued to correct me. in fact i tried to end the whole thing with the "*sigh*" comment. i have been calm throughout the whole discussion whereas you seemed to not be able to pull your head out of your ass long enough to realize this wasn't serious. it's the internet, bro. debates on grammar are not serious. frankly, i'm finding this discussion has reached it's end. my point was that i don't appreciate when people correct me, yet you did it any way, and it was provoking. alright, well, no hard feeling (on my part, at least)... bye.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I believe you said it best yourself: "...you're an arrogant jerk that has no counter-argument." No hard feelings, of course.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I completely agree!!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So true!! Also annoying when they point out some random scientific fact that vaguely disputes what you're saying, like a lot of the stuff on this site is just wishful thinking and everyone else knows it's impossible too!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I still vote up the post, but if there's an error, one should point it out to prevent future mistake. It's either us now, or an English teacher later, and they grade that crap.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I thought it was funny that after reading this post, that the one under it was grammatically incorrect.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It should be "post" instead of "posts" in the first sentence. (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You spelled your name wrong, its spelled "dick" not "whaaaat"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think you mean Grammar Nazi...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ahhh I was wondering what smh meant!!! I know smd is "suck my dick" so all this time I was wondering what they were sucking!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I forgot all about this post.
